Hi Alicia,
Thanks for commenting on the fall pictures on my blog. Nice to "meet" you! I enjoyed the little poking around I've done on your blog and look forward to more. Second generation homeschooler? Cool! What curriculum are you using?
I agree!
Wasn't sure where to reply to your question, Dana, so I'll do it here. I really don't use curriculum much at all, but we do use Horizons math and some A Beka books. But our handwriting is being learned through writing animal journal entries, and now bird watching entries (new study). We learn science through those and stacks of non-fiction books about nature, animals, etc. (We read through the whole A Beka K5 Science book in less than an hour.) For social studies, we've visited the firehouse, read the Kirsten and Felicity American girls books, a biography of Davy Crockett, etc. I've bought dollar tree workbooks and work them in along with loads of other resources from here and there. I love research, so we just go with whatever strikes our fancy. Long answer, but I could go on forever on this subject. I'll be doing some homeschooling entries soon. You've realy got me going!
