Okay, I admit it

I'm scared of the dentist. I knew I had a cavity. I've seen its mark for over two years now, and I finally made it to the dentist for the first time in eight years. They always manage to hit a nerve when they brush my teeth. And they scraped tartar off of my very sensitive teeth for a very long time. Not fun. That was last week.

And today, ladies and gentlemen, I am going to have my first real filling. Not a little filler thing to prevent a cavity. But the real thing, with,... a drill. And shots in my mouth. Now I can happily donate blood, and used to get four allergy shots a week. But in my mouth?!

And did I mention the drill?

Pray for me.

Awwww. Alicia!!! I'm tellin' Mom that you got a cavity!
But seriously, you poor thing. I'll pray for you. I can't make everyone love the dentist the way I love the dentist, but I'll pray that today you do love the dentist like me.

Your such a baby! And you should consider yourself very blessed to be getting your first cavity NOW. I can say that because I have had many, over the course of my life. I inherited my mom's side of the family genetic traits - Perfect vision and VERY bad teeth. Josh is the opposite - bad eyes but great teeth (he actually just had his first cavity about 6 months ago!)

I JUST had my teeth cleaned last night and while I didn't have any cavities, and thankfully haven't since I was a kid, I do have to have 2 of my old silver filling replaced and I am NOT looking forward to it. I mean here I've been doing everything possible to not get any new cavities and instead my old filling wear out and I still have to go thru that process of getting....I cannot even say it.....drilled! AAAAH. Trust me, I know how you feel :)

Yikes Alicia! It sounds like we have similar dentist stories. I just posted about my first cavity a few weeks ago. I go for the filling THIS friday. Ahhhh!

I feel for you. Peter has been having dentist visits for several cleanings and fillings and an extraction. I am getting a cavity and I know I need to go to the dentist, but I am scared.

I'm with you - I've yet to have a filling done, and though I've taken my children for such procedures, and have comforted them through the process, I am nervous that I'll be getting a filling at some point. Hope it went ok!
