The craziness I'm up to now

I'm writing my first novel.

Why do I do this to myself?

Do tell!

You could write about your romance with Brian/Bryan (I forget which way to spell it) and I'd read it.

This is actually a love story, and the way that Evelyn and Aran meet does hold many similarities to my own story, but thankfully my course of true love has run much smoother than theirs will. It's a story of deep love, but more importantly, of honor that is so great it compels them to walk away from everything that they want.

So will I get a signed copy?

If I can get a published copy. :^)

Somehow I'm not surprised. :)

I'd like a signed copy too, please.

Do you read this agent's blog?
http://cba-ramblings.blogspot.com/
Lots of writers there!

Thanks for the blog link, Jen. I'm gonna have to learn about things like viking sea warfare, wedding customs, and ....literary agents. Gulp.

Of course you can have a signed copy too. Hopefully it will be a real book I'm signing and not a stack of paper that you printed out.

Excellent idea.

I'm researching the viking ships for a side project. Perhaps these will help you:
Excellent BBC coverage

Viking ships in general

Use of the Longboat

Summary: It was rare for vikings to wage open sea battles. Instead they focused on getting to shore as quickly as possible, interrupt dinner, and vamoose before the six o'clock pigeon.

Thanks so much, Ben. You all are the bestest friends, sniff. I will be shecking out those links, but Brian likes to stress that I am writing a fantasy, meaning that by historical contexts are merely a launching point for my imagination. But I'll make up a different name for the vikingish people, so nobody gets their feathers too ruffled.

Ahem! Cough! Cough!

If you need to know anything about Vikings....just as me. Don't forget, I'm married to one. ;-) I can send you titles of books and links to websites.

I did think of that, Jacki, as I looked at your pictures. Thanks. :^)
